Lang Yan comes from Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province, China. She earned her BA in biology science from China West Normal University (2010) and her PhD in biochemistry & molecular biology form Sichuan University (2015). In 2015, she was employed by Xichang College as deputy director of Potato Functional Genome and Application Laboratory. She joined the Schnable Lab in the fall of 2016 as a visiting scholar. Her research at UNL focuses on using comparative transcriptomic tools to identify changes in selection and root metabolism between maize, teosinte, and tripsacum.
